BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 25, 2016 /Weed Wire/ — Wana Brands, a leading maker of infused cannabis products, has announced the appointment of Mica Gross as Director of Operations. In his new position, Mica will work with the Wana Brands team to formalize the quality assurance measures that define the Wana brand. Mica will develop the processes to ensure delivery of quality products as Wana continues to grow and expand from its Colorado headquarters into new emerging marijuana markets, including Washington, Oregon, Nevada, New York, Florida, as well as international frontiers such as Canada.

Mica joins Wana with over 15 years of diverse experience in project management, food and supplement production, and product and organizational development. Mica has hands-on experience in CO2, ethanol and multi solvent extraction of cannabinoids and other functional compounds. He has also developed safety and compliance programs including cGMP and HACCP, which are mandated by the FDA for food, supplement and drug manufacturers.
Among Mica’s accomplishments: he worked with the first large scale CO2 extraction of Cannabis in Colorado; and led a team to achieve the first commercial plant tissue culture of cannabis. He has conducted research in stem cell therapeutics and hydroponics science; increased the bioavailability of functional compounds; and isolated and characterized new probiotic bacteria.
