A U.S. Marine veteran in Indiana has registered a nonprofit organization that will push for medical marijuana legalization in his state, according to an Aug. 22, 2016, article at Fox59.com. Jeff Staker started Hoosier Veterans for Medical Cannabis to convince Indiana lawmakers to make medical marijuana legal. “There needs to be an alternative,” he said.


Canadian Producer of Medical Cannabis Prepares to Buy More Land

Aphria Inc., a Canadian producer, supplier, and seller of medical cannabis, has entered into an agreement with DiNiro Farms Inc. to buy 11 acres adjacent to its facilities in Leamington, Ontario, according to a press release. The 11 acres, which include 345,000 square feet of greenhouse space, will be purchased for $2.1 million in cash.
