LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10, 2017 /Weed Wire/ — Southern California Coalition (SCC), the largest, most inclusive cannabis industry trade organization located in the world’s largest cannabis marketplace, Southern California, issued the following statement on Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s appointment of Cat Packer as Executive Director of the newly-established Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation.

We commend Mayor Garcetti’s appointment of Cat Packer as the first Executive Director of the newly-established Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation. Cat’s decades of professional experience and her deep understanding of cannabis reforms makes her the ideal candidate to help drive forward many complex issues currently facing the cannabis industry.

We look forward to working with her and the newly formed Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation on responsible and inclusive cannabis reforms, so the city can finally fully license and legitimize the industry’s entire supply chain, ensure the sector is fairly taxed, regulated and enforced upon, as well as create and implement a viable social equity program that benefits Los Angeles’ people and communities.
