If you’re an investor looking for rapid and consistent growth, you’d probably struggle to find an industry that’s outperforming marijuana at the moment.
However, if we could “weed out” the standouts of all marijuana stocks, my vote would go toward Canadian producers for the medical cannabis industry.
But, these industry standouts could soon come crashing back to Earth.
According to a press release from Health Canada in late May, big changes are coming to the country’s medical cannabis program.
While Maine marijuana regulation has faced delays, the Pine Tree State finally has a regulatory draft to show for itself.
On Sept. 13, 2017, U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, introduced legislation to cut the bureaucratic red tape thwarting medical cannabis research so health care professionals can harness the medicinal properties of the plant to reduce the suffering of patients in need.
On Sept 12, 2017, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs announced that existing medical cannabis dispensaries have until Dec. 15 to shut down or they risk losing the opportunity to become licensed under the state’s new medical cannabis laws.
